Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members invited to contribute to Victorian research

Monday, 19 Jun 2017

APRA AMCOS has been commissioned by Creative Victoria to undertake a research study into the state of Aboriginal music in Victoria.

The study aims to better understand how Aboriginal music artists connect with the industry; to explore issues around access to services, including funding; and to identify factors which may pose barriers to career development.

As part of the study, consultation sessions will be held in Echuca, Bendigo, Warrnambool and Melbourne. APRA AMCOS Ambassador Benny Walker has been engaged as a consultant and will be leading the sessions.

Your voice is important, as the results of the study will help to inform future investment in programs to support the professional development of Aboriginal music artists.

We welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander APRA AMCOS members and related industry workers to attend a local session.

If you would like to contribute to the research, please contact Sally Howland: showland@apra.com.au. For event information, please contact Michael Hutchings: mhutchings@apra.com.au.
