APRA AMCOS and country music in Australia lost a true champion with the tragic passing of Rob Potts, who was in a motorcycle accident on Friday while in his native Tasmania.

The promoter, manager, and sole Australian on the prestigious Country Music Association (CMA) Board was a true believer in the genre. He helped shape the careers of Australian country singers, songwriters, and performers and brought great joy to country music fans with the CMC Rocks festivals and the many shows he promoted. Potts worked tirelessly to put Australia on the country music map, and will certainly leave a lasting legacy.

On behalf of APRA AMCOS, Milly Petriella, Director of Member Relations, commented:

“I am heartbroken.
"Rob Potts and APRA AMCOS have been working together for over twenty years, and he was truly a giant of country music in Australia and integral to the growing influence of Australians in Nashville. His passion and dedication to the industry was infectious. Rob had recently reached the heights of his career selling out CMC Rocks 2018 and leading the global success of Morgan Evans’ career. We have lost a great man and friend, and APRA AMCOS extends heartfelt condolences to his family and friends .”
