The new state-of-the art Studios 301 is going to be firing on all cylinders over the next three days when APRA AMCOS’ SongHubs - The Tower program brings together international producers, A&Rs and creatives to collaborate with local songwriters all on the same mission: to craft a hit.

The intensive songwriting sessions have been curated by US music industry heavyweights Amanda Berman-Hill, Co-Head of A+R for Sony ATV Music Publishing, and Peter Coquillard, Head of International at LA-based Milk and Honey Management.

Tomorrow morning, the group of 15 Australian and 1 Kiwi songwriters will report to the studio to get started on writing, producing and recording with international guest talents: SongHubs alumna and nominee for Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year at tomorrow night’s APRA Music Awards, Sarah Aarons, who co-wrote the US #1, double-platinum Zedd/Alessia Cara hit Stay, and has a current chart-climber with Zedd’s The Middle, along with recent releases by Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato and Jessie Ware.

Joining Aarons is production duo The Orphanage aka Trevor Brown and Zaire Koalo, whose credits include Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry, Alessia Cara’s How Far I’ll Go from Moana, and Kehlani’s album SweetSexySavage; and US singer-songwriter Erin Bowman, who had one of the most synced songs of 2017 with Good Time Good Life, which featured on TV shows This Is Us, Hawaii Five-O, and Girls, in Target's US Thanksgiving ad campaign.

The diverse roster of high profile and up-and-coming APRA AMCOS members selected for The Tower include G Flip, Tushar Apte, Benjamin Woolner-Kirkham of SAFIA, Starley, Running Touch, Thief, Ilan Kidron and more.

“The calibre of everyone involved is astounding – from the curators who have put so much thought into the entire program, to the guests who are expert collaborators, and of course the APRA AMCOS members who all are doing amazing work in their own right,” said Milly Petriella, APRA AMCOS Director Member Relations.

“Having Studios 301 as the ‘incubator’ for SongHubs – The Tower means that all of the attendees will have access to the best tools, technology, and amenities and they can focus purely on the songs.”

Launched in 2013, SongHubs has already produced commercial releases for the likes of Troye Sivan, Client Liaison, Tkay Maidza, Nicole Millar, Guy Sebastian, SAFIA and Ecca Vandal, resulting in over $1 million dollars for our collaborators in songwriting royalties to date.
