Just Played? Don't delay and submit those Performance Reports

Thursday, 31 Oct 2019

This year's Performance Reports deadline (31 July) was hectic! So many gigs, so many reports and setlists flooded in during those final days. So, we're here to let you know that you can start lodging those Performance Reports via the Writer Portal again, for the next gigging year ending 30 June 2020. That's right, the portal is now open.

Albury singer-songwriter Toby Mobbs clocked up a heap of open mic nights in the last couple of years.

Don't forget that Performance Reports include open mics, which I assure you all add up. Last year, I was able to buy new PA speakers just from live performance royalties from one year of playing open mic nights  and receiving a royalty payment is a great feeling. - Toby Mobbs

"All those open mics are a great way to help you work on your craft and performance too -- another win-win.

If you're playing full gigs of your own music, this will add up quickly. But there are a few exceptions where you can't claim, such as busking."

How does one become a diligent submitter of Performance Reports, Toby? Firstly, always register your works.

"If you start keeping track now of it all now or make it part of your post-gig routine like I do (I keep a notepad on my desk with the date, venue and songs I played), it makes it super easy for the next financial year."

For a refresher on the process head to our Tips of the Trade: Performance Reports.

Payments from the most recent period ending 30 June 2019 will be coming in November. Not long now!
